# Site Explorer configuration

### Project

*Required*

An Ahrefs project. The selected project's URL, protocol, and mode will be used.

Projects accessible by the owner of the data source's Ahrefs credentials will be shown.

You can [refresh the project list in the configuration menu](./refresh-config-project-list.md) if you add or remove projects in your Ahrefs dashboard.

### Mode override

*Optional (default: none)*

Value to override the selected project's mode; must be within the project scope.

### Protocol override

*Optional (default: none)*

Value to override the selected project's protocol; must be within the project scope.

### Target override

*Optional (default: none)*

Value to override the selected project's target; must be within the project scope.

### Country

*Optional (default: All countries)*

Country by which to filter metrics. Note that the option "All countries" is invalid for some field groups.

### History grouping

*Optional (default: daily)*

The time interval used to group historical data.

### Backlinks grouping

*Optional (default: Backlinks - Group similar)*

The grouping mode to use for [backlinks reports](./data-size-restrictions.md). Refer to [this tutorial](https://help.ahrefs.com/en/articles/2526458-why-do-i-see-different-amount-of-new-lost-backlinks-on-the-same-day-with-corresponding-reports-of-site-explorer) for more information on the available grouping mode options.

### Backlinks sort field

*Optional (default: Ref. page traffic)*

The field by which to sort Backlinks rows. Note that [this sort is applied by Ahrefs](./data-size-restrictions.md) before returning the data.

### Organic keywords sort field

*Optional (default: Keyword traffic)*

The field by which to sort Organic Keywords rows. Note that [this sort is applied by Ahrefs](./data-size-restrictions.md) before returning the data.

### Top pages sort field

*Optional (default: Top page traffic)*

The field by which to order Top Pages rows. Note that [this sort is applied by Ahrefs](./data-size-restrictions.md) before returning the data.

### Sort order

*Optional (default: Descending)*

The sort direction for both Page and Link Explorer; either "Ascending" or "Descending".

### Page

*Optional (default: 1, max: 200)*

The page number used to expose [paginated navigation capability](./data-size-restrictions.md) for field groups with truncated rows.
